break fasting @ d'ocean, seafood rest.

Here is my first serious food review, LOL (me, being an absolute non-experienced food critics )

Last night we (Pandu, Adek, Nara and I) went to d’ocean restaurant

It’s quite new, located at Komp Tendean Square Unit 1-1A, Jl. Kapten Tendean (Wolter Mongonsidi) – Kebayoran Baru.

Pandu’s been nagging me all day on where we’ll eat to break our fasting.  The choices were d’ocean, Fish & Co or Pastis (my idea and he bluntly rejected the idea, hihi) and after lots of drooling afterwards, Pandu decided that he was firmed with d’ocean. He called to make a reservation. Thank God they accept a reservation whilst some other restaurant usually does not accept reservation during fasting month.

We break our fast with homemade chocolate pudding, pray and then heading to the restaurant.

 We arrive shortly because it’s only 10 minutes from our house. The restaurant has 2 storeys. Apparently the 1^st storey was full and our table was on the 2^nd storey. The waitress are very friendly, a bit too many of them actually, we were escorted by 5 waitress to our table…hihi

The ambience was nice with somewhat blue lighting and cozy chair. They also have high-chair for Nara, it’s a standard high-chair produced by Ace Hardware as you may find in any food court.

Not long after we sat down, the food came instantly (we have pre-ordered by phone just before we leave house).  My oh my, the food looked so appealing *drooling*

 

We had Tahu Telor Merapi (IDR 35,9K) which is the best tahu telur I ever tasted. As you may see in the picture above (lower middle pic), it was humongous. The tofu was hidden below the crisp duck eggs. It has ketchup underneath in just a right amount (not too sweet because I don’t like it sweet). For main course we have Udang Wamayo (IDR 59,9K) it’s like prawn with mayonnaise as in Chinese food but it they put a slight wasabi also, that’s why it’s called Wamayo (upper and lower right pics). It’s certainly delicious but not the best I ever had. We also have Cumi Cabe Garam (upper middle pic), it’s pretty much tasted like the one they have in Duck King, yummm . I don’t really like the Tumis Buncis Bawang Putih (IDR 19,9K) but Pandu loved it. Furthermore, IMO the best was Sambal Kemangi (upper left pic)…I never taste any SAMBEL like that, especially when I ate the Kemangi which gave a tingling sensation over the hot spicy sambal. We ate like monsters; even Nara ate ay-lot. He ate 1 Cumi Cabe Garam and 3 Udang Wamayo with rice…yayyy!

All in all, I recommend this restaurant. They also have credit card promo, 30% off using RBS and Mandiri with minimum payment of IDR 200k (I forget until when exactly).

 Next time we go there, we definitely must try Kepiting Telur Singapore Chilli Sauce and Prawn with Salty Egg

Random Thoughts

Random thoughts crossing my mind right now:

1. Pengen deh punya skill berbahasa inggris yang canggih, itu loh biar bisa nulis kaya Dewi Lestari, ngga pake bahasa pasar kaya sekarang, LOL… mungkin gw musti tinggal di luar negeri dulu ya biar faseh abyes dan punya vocab yang canggih-canggih? *shallowminded ditambah ngayal-ngayal*
2. Si Bapak flight jam berapa ya? jangan sampe flightnya malem…kan kita mau ke rumah Bapak Ibu hari ini
3. Nah, frame buat foto yang gw cetak buat Bapak belum ada nih. Pandu bilang sih kayanya kita masih punya frame di gudang. Kalo ngga ya nanti mampir di Gramedia dulu kali ya otw ke rumah Bapak
4. Kenapa sih blog gw ngga bisa dibikin summary gitu sih? Gw udah ganti settingannya, tapi tetep aja kliatan full text. Tolong si gaptek ini dong…
5. Tiba-tiba mikir kenapa orang suka bilang “rumput tetangga lebih hijau”. Rumput tetangga ngga lebih hijau kok, tetangga itu hanya BERSYUKUR atas apapun yang mereka punya, sehingga mereka bahagia. Kalo kita selalu bersyukur atas apapun yang kita punya, maka rumput kita bakal terasa lebih hijau terus kok
6. Dear God, I know the traffic will be horrible because everyone is rushing home…karena mau taraweh. Tapi boleh ngga jangan terlalu macet? Please God, since You’re the almighty…

Udah ah, mau pulang duluuuu…Tim gw udah sepi

25 Random Facts about Pandu a.k.a Ayah Nara

1. He doesn’t eat bread, except in some rare occasion such as in extreme hunger and there is nothing left, literally nothing left and for some reason could not go or call for a ‘delivery’

2. Loves tahu/tofu ay-lot

3. Thinks I’m the greatest pasta cook, haha

4. Gains weight approximately 15kg since we start dating, and yet 9 years ago I already consider him chubby…hihi but he looked handsome as 10 years ago

5. Checks my phone every night, see if it needs charging

6. Doesn’t forget to put the toilet seat down (one in a million guys do that I guess, hehe)

7. Doesn’t really likes sweets, in contrast with me he’s more of a cheese/salty-snack-guy

8. Keeps in touch with all his friends and former gf. I love most of his friends, they’re fun to hang with

9. The greatest Ayah on earth, I really enjoy watching Ayah-Nara moments together

10. Stayed next to me, holding my hand the whole time during Nara’s birth when I knew deep inside it scared the sh*t out of him

11. He looked most handsome in our wedding day

12. His well-organized and well-planned genes is inherited from Bapak

13. Likes his eggs scrambled or omelette with lots of cheese and mushroom, ¾ done (he used to like it half done but not anymore)

14. Prefers to make his own card for me, when he has the time (and I also like it better than those card printed by hallmark) only now, ‘time’ is not exactly our best friend, seems like we’re always running out of time right?

15. Hates queuing. Prinsipnya adalah “klo bisa ngga ngantri, kenapa ngantri? In daily life application: have someone else do the queuing , haha

16. Have I mention, the greatest partner a woman could have? Tapi ngga berniat membaginya sih…haha hush

17. Supports my fondness of shoes, hihi

18. Loves loves loves to buy me cakes, chocolate and other ‘fatty’ stuff *grrrr….(tapi dimakan terusss ya gimana ngga terus dibeliin, dasar Bunda gembul)

19. Always showed up the last minute before the movie starts, I usually go into the theatre myself…hehe maaf ya, abis klo nungguin kamu takut telat liat awal filmnya

20. His latest hobby is buying me chicklit at Periplus-Cengkareng Airport every time he goes on business trip

21. Always tidying things up…you know Monica from Friends? He’s the one that taught Monica (pasti dijitak Pandu dan bilang “bukannya kamu yang kaya Monica??”)

22. Explains things and talks in a very structured manner: this one is so cool (subjectively speaking, hehe)

23. Has a big fan who has crush on him –> me,

24. He never complains about anything I do or said to him. When I asked why, he simply said it because he loves me just the way I am.

One Ordinary Night with Nara

Seru juga main rumah-rumahan dan masak-masakan sama Nara

Rumahnya Nara dibuat di pojokan tempat tidur, sebesar sekitar 1mX0.5m hihi

Pagernya dari 2 bantal diberdirikan (ada gitu kata diberdirikan? hihi)

Trus gw disuruh jadi satpam yang jagain rumahnya Nara

Nara bediri di dalem rumah mungilnya

Bunda: Errr trus sekarang mau ngapain di rumahnya?

Nara: udah malem, Nara mau tidur dulu. Slamat tidur Bunda Satpam

Bunda: selamat tidur sayang

Nara: *pura-pura merem*

3 detik kemudian

Nara: Bunda, kukukukuk dong, jadi ayam

Bunda: ha? Kukuruyuk maksudnya?

Nara: iya

Bunda: Kukkkuruyuuuukkkkk bangun Nara…

Nara: *kucek-kucek mata dan ngulet-ngulet, bediri sambil senyum-senyum trus nyanyi* habis mandi ku tolong Bunda, membersihkan tempat tidurkuuuu… Bunda, Nara mau dimandiin Satpam

*keluar dari pagar rumahnya*

Bunda: Ok, keramas dulu ya *pura-pura ngeramasin rambut Nara*

Nara: Aduh  aduh kena mata, perih

Haha, keramasnya boongan juga, kok matanya bisa perih… Dasar anak lebay

Setelah selesai mandi imajiner itu, Nara masuk lagi ke rumahnya

Nara: sekarang Nara mau masak

Bunda: masak apa?

Nara: masak telor

Bunda:  Bunda dibagi ngga?

Nara: Nggak

Bunda: Yahhhh kok ngga dibagiiiii, mau dongggggg

Nara: iya dehhhh (you should see his face, dengan muka kasian liat gw ngemis)

*Lalu dengan gaya professional membuka telor imajiner, trus nuangin ke wajan imajiner juga trus diaduk-aduk pake sodet imajiner…haha*

Nara: Nih udah jadi, makan *sambil nyuapin gw*

Bunda: hmmmm enak sekali. Nara jagoan ya masaknya

Nara: *cengar-cengir kesenengan dipuji* iya yah enak…Nara jagoan Bunda *ngangkat dua jempolnya*

Bunda: sekarang masak yang lain dong…masak semur ayam

Nara: oke

*Masih dengan gaya professional sok-sok menuang-nuang sesuatu ke wajan imajiner sambil menjelaskan apa yang dilakukan*

Nara: dikasi cabe *tuang-tuang*, trus keju *tuang-tuang*, trus kacep…eh…eh….apa namanya?

Bunda: kecap

Nara: iya kecap, trus jadi deh, ni makan

Bunda: hmmm kurang garem

Nara: oiya, ni garemnya *aduk-aduk wajan*  ni makan

Bunda: hmmm ini baru enak…hebat Nara masaknya jago

Nara: *kesenengan dipuji lagi, haha* Sekarang Nara mau keluar, rumahnya dihancurin aja

And then, rusuhhhhh bantal-bantal yang dijadikan pagar rumah Nara diacak-acak…

Gw ditimpa, katanya gw Megatron dan dia Bumblebee

Kapankah demam Transformers ini akan mereda???
